i always get super emotional the week before i get my period, so that sort of explains all my emotional crazy stuff. so this week is going to be so much fun now. not at all. and now this means next month i'll probably get my period on prom, you know, that's cool too, i just love being a girl.
i should be doing history stuff but i'm a slacker. so instead i'm going to finally give you those quotes from this book before it gets returned to the library.
24 - "Something Wes had figured out - learned from Izzy and her artistic parents, actually - was that purely aestetic judgments were unassailable. If you said you liked something, or loved it - like when Iz declared that vintage blue jeans were the most beautiful garments ever created - people could disagree all they wanted by never be able to prove you wrong. Of course, to make it work, you had to not care what anybody else thought, you had to believe."
37 - "One thing Wes hated about himself was that he was always rethinking things he'd said or done, and then figuring how it should have gone. It drove him crazy. For example, he kept thinkin about talking to that girl, June, and blurting out that he had to go home to babysit his siter. He was sure she had known he was lying. He should have said, "The B and B has excellent éclairs." She would have said "Let's go!" and he would have said, "I'm afraid I'm not able to today, as I have other obligations. Perhaps another time?" That would have been better. Except he didn't really talk like that."
42 - "Sometimes, Wes didn't get why he did certain things. or maybe he did get it, but he just didn't want to think about it."
101 - "They made plans to go out Saturday night. June decided it would be okay for Jerry to see her with her black eye. It wasn't all that black anymore. More grayish yellow. Bu it was okay because he believed her story about hitting the doorknob with her face. Besides, Jerry did not look at her the way Wes did. When Wes looked at her she knew - she knew - that he was absorbing every detail. With Jerry it was more like he was seeing the idea of her. She could leave out one of her contacts and he would never notice. Wes had noticed right away. Those eyes of his. So hungry."
Your mind can play seriously bad tricks on you.
